Speculative Creatures by Andrée-Anne Roussel

This video installation explores the role of intuition, prediction, and speculation within the realms of finance, spirituality, and machine learning. Evolving over time, the narrative structure of the work is generated by a probability tool based on Markov chains. Through a computer code, the order and selection of audio sequences change each time, producing constantly renewed associations of ideas.

The artist interviewed and filmed individuals from a wide range of backgrounds: financial forecasters, trend analysts, AI professionals, clairvoyants, priests, artists, scientists, philosophers, researchers, and educators. In its current form, the project brings together approximately two and a half hours of audio content.

Animabotany by NYCU_Architectural Informatics Lab

This work is grounded in the compositional principles and growth logic of natural organisms. It transforms human-made technology into kinetic units that approximate biological growth and movement, producing nature-like organic behavior through collective responses. The work attempts to generate a new species within an artificial natural environment: the layered motion of mechanical linkages is combined with the swaying of flexible light strips, forming movements reminiscent of coral-like predatory tentacles and creating a biomimetic scenario of collective interaction.
